I'm with a group of people who are mining in a remote town when they come upon something precious worth allot of money
They call you the "money men" and bring them to look at their find
It's a brown-coloured precious gem that looks like a big block of massive crystal when it is uncut in stone
Apparently very expensive
And the block we've found is worth a fortune
We show them inside the chamber we've been mining and when we do the ground starts to shake
An earthquake
We all quickly run near the door and hold on for the earthquake to finish
Instead, the ground cracks on the street outside and a whole section of the ground, including the structure we are standing in, starts sinking into the ground
We tumble down into a hole, stories into the ground, when the quake finally stops
I look at the rock and mineral on the wall and get excited about mining down there
Then we all realise that the ground below us is rising and falling as I'm looking at the minerals in the wall
"Whatever we are standing on is alive" I say
And as I do, something under us begins to take off
Then we are all on the back of a massive Dragon as it's flying through the air
It has long leather ropes hanging down from its neck, off it's back, dangling through the the air as it's flies, that we all manage to grab a hold of, to get pull through the air behind it as it flies
We would later find out that the ropes dangle behind it like that on purpose. They are put there by the Dragon riders to catch, in case they fall off
They don't really effect the Dragon which is massive compared to the long leather ropes streaming out behind it
As we are riding the Dragon over a massive Lake or body of water, I climb up the my rope to the person riding the Dragon
When I get to him, I pull him out of his saddle from behind and throw him overboard into the water, so I can take his place. Thinking that the Dragon won't mind or notice and I can just ride it in its riders place
The doesn't happen
The Dragon notices straight away and literally turns to go straight back and fly past the Dragon rider in the water, ignoring me on the reigns trying to control it
When it gets to him, it brings it's lets forwards and expands its wings out to slow right down, like a bird does when it's going to land. Except it's not landing, it is just slowing down enough for the rider to grab hold of a leather rope as he passes and they dangle over his head
They've done this before
The Dragon flies to water shallow enough for us to stand up in and lands. Then carefully picks all the ropes without his rider on them, to flick off everyone else riding
Before flicking his head to send me flying off his neck landing into the water
He stands face to face with his rider for a moment, sharing a affectionate exchange, to see if he is OK
Then turns his attention to me standing in the water and lets out a massive, deafening, blood-curdling roar, exposing it's teeth, right in front of my face
I think this is a dominant act that's meant to scare me/warn me
Instead, even though the Dragon could easily squash me, eat me, or otherwise kill me, I start screaming back in its face
Much to it's confusion, I go full berzerker right in front of its face. Face going red, veins popping out of my neck while I'm screaming, I start punching it on the lip as hard as I can
Punching it and over again, with both fists in turn, while I scream at it
It obviously has no physical affect on the Dragon, I doubt it even really feels it
But it does arouse it's curiosity in me
It moves it's head to examine me as if to say "I like this guy" while I manage to hurt my own fist/wrist while I'm trying to punch it
Long story, cut short, we become friends with the riders and their Dragons
They teach me to ride
While this is happening, a sherpa man who saw the size of the valuable gem we had, has reported it back to the society of rich men in the country we are from
And then they are all on their way
All of them. Packing wagons to go find their own riches
This is not Earth, it is some fictional earth-like world
Because when they are on their way, they find that a bridge is missing linking their country (or maybe even world) to ours
It has been closed by a race or giant looking humans that stand at least 9-10 feet tall, that are like Angels
They float through the air and have the ability to open and close a physical bridge over to where they are trying to travel
The chasm where the bridge has been closed (literally turned downwards into the ground by some type of magic) is massive. The size of a ocean across and so deep you cannot see the bottom. Just clouds forming like fog, deep in the ground
It was impossible to cross without them
I stand on the edge of the fallen bridge and call to one of the Angel-like beings floating out in the fog in the middle of the vast empty expanse to come talk to me
I am one of the rich men, coming seeking the fortune I'd been told of
He demands in gesture that I take off my hat and after I have, he floats over to my side of the bridge to talk to me
He just looks like a really massive version of a human
He tells me nobody is allowed to pass
I ask why not and the says that there are problems on the other side
I ask what sort of problems and another Angel-like being, just like the first one appears and answers "the type that bite"
I tell them where I have to go and state that it's imperative I get there
They tell me there is another road there, but that nobody goes that way, because nobody survives when they try
I insist I want to go and ask where the road is
There is a woman I meet (a normal human) who says she knows the way, says she knows the way the whole way there
I offer her $15,000 to go with me as my guide
There are more details before and after this including run-ins with the Angels between myself and the Dragons but I will go into detail of the story if/when I ever write it
I will mention on part though where the Dragons save me from certain death falling into the endless void where the bridge has been taken down and catch me
Literally fighting off the Angels (multiples of them) in order to get to me, catch me while I'm falling and save me
It seemed like a really good kids movie that adults would like, but some scenes were/are/would be really dark
