America Split In Two

I was half asleep and something showed me a map of America

I saw a crack appear across it like a earthquake, starting from the San Andreas fault, working upwards, that then turned right

It cracked the land all the way across the country towards New York

So that America was basically split into two halves. A lower Florida half and a upper Alaskan half

I was told it would take out half of the American

I asked, to clarify, if they meant half the land mass, or half the people

They meant half the people

It has something to do with the Carona vaccine, though I'm not sure what or how exactly
